If you may miss the pickup window, arrange a connection for the airport-to-hotel journey before you fly. Hotel delivery can make collection convenient after check-in; it does not give you mobile data while you are getting there.

Checked October 17, 2026. All times below are Japan Standard Time (JST), using the 24-hour clock. This guide uses official pickup information, not a personal airport visit or a timed arrival test. Recheck the selected pickup option and your order confirmation before travel.

Use the time you can reach the counter

Check your actual arrival terminal and the booked pickup location first. Your scheduled landing time is not your collection time: you still need to reach the public arrivals area after immigration, baggage collection, and customs. There is no single clearance time that works for every flight or family.

Allow for delays and your group’s needs rather than treating a small gap before closing as a safe pickup margin. If missing the window would leave you without maps or hotel check-in details, make the backup connection your arrival plan.

Three T3 pickup options and their limits

These are the three options checked here, not an inventory of every Haneda supplier. The two NINJA options are at the same named counter area but have different collection arrangements.

Reserved pickup option Published window, JST What to check
Sakura Mobile: JAL ABC, T3 Arrivals 2F Closed 01:00–04:00 Collection of an arranged order; the hours do not guarantee same-day stock
NINJA WiFi: Global WiFi x NINJA WiFi staffed counter, T3 2F 06:30–23:45 Confirm the selected order’s booking conditions; the overnight return box is not pickup
NINJA WiFi Smart Pickup lockers, T3 2F 05:15–15:00 or 15:30–23:00 Book the designated slot; online application deadline is 15:00 the day before pickup

Sakura’s standard airport-pickup FAQ gives a 16:00 deadline on the day before the pickup date. Check the Japan-calendar date on an after-midnight itinerary. A different express arrangement must be confirmed separately.

For an overnight arrival, the listed NINJA staffed counter is closed between 23:45 and 06:30; its locker evening slot ends earlier, at 23:00. Between 01:00 and 04:00, the listed Sakura counter is closed too. Do not confuse NINJA’s overnight return box with a way to collect a new router. If you miss a locker slot, NINJA directs you to counter staff; that is not a promise of overnight assistance.

Arriving at Terminal 2?

Sakura’s current map lists T2 Mobile Center, International Departure Lobby 3F, 07:00–22:00. Its airport FAQ’s list names Haneda T3 but omits T2. T2 travelers should confirm the current order’s selectable pickup options, location, and hours. Do not assume either that T2 pickup is unavailable or that a T3 reservation can be collected there.

Plan the connection before hotel collection

An appropriately configured digitally delivered data-only travel eSIM can avoid physical collection. Check the exact phone’s eSIM support and carrier-unlock status, then the product’s installation, activation, and validity rules. Do not assume a voice eSIM with an identity or counter-receipt step is equally convenient. Use our Japan eSIM checklist.

Apple’s travel guidance also recommends checking whether your existing carrier plan already includes international roaming. Confirm Japan coverage, allowances, and charges with your carrier before relying on it.

The airport’s HANEDA-FREE-WIFI can help while you are inside the terminal, but Haneda warns that connection can be difficult in some areas. It does not cover your journey to the hotel. Download essential information before leaving its range.

Hotel delivery: confirm these details yourself

Before ordering, ask your hotel:

  • Will it accept and hold the provider’s parcel for your stay?
  • Which booking name, arrival date, and delivery address should appear on it?
  • Can you collect it at your actual late-night check-in time, especially with a limited-hours desk or self check-in?
  • What happens if the parcel or your flight is delayed?

Save the hotel’s Japanese address, check-in instructions, and your transport route offline. If family members may separate, each group needs a working connection or an agreed offline meeting plan; a router waiting at the hotel connects neither group during the transfer.

Once arrival access is settled, use our family eSIM versus Pocket WiFi comparison for the rest of the trip. This page does not compare prices, guarantee stock, or promise reception along a particular route.
